The latest Linksys network system has arrived at the shelf, and if you need wider coverage and are willing to pay dearly for wifi 6E, you’re lucky. It was announced at CES 2021 at the beginning of the year, the Linksys Atlas Max 6E (AXE8400) system saw the first view like the mesh totem that we had seen from the previous linksys.

But in the latest 802.11AC WiFi connectivity, with support for WiFi 6E and a new 6GHz band. That can give AXE8400 at a certain speed.

In fact, Linksys said, you can see up to 8.4 Gbps from wireless bandwidth, which is a fairly large uptick compared to the previous wifi version. With three units in the Atlas Max 6e package, you see up to 9,000 square feet coverage, promised Linksys. Meanwhile, each node can support more than 195 devices that are simultaneously connected.

Behind there are more ports than usual. Along with 5 Gigabit Wan ports, there are also four gigabit LAN ports in each unit. The USB 3.0 port allows for external drives to be shared with the rest of the network, among others. Everything is configured through the Linksys application for iOS and Android.

Exactly how you use a 6GHz band might depend on what you are trying to connect. For now, of course, the client device with WiFi 6E support itself is in a fairly short inventory. It will change as a new laptop, smartphone, and other things glide during the coming year and so on, but for now there may be a shortage of things that you can connect to 6GHz radio versus which is far more established 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

Then potentially more useful, then, relying on 6GHz radio as a backhaul connection between each node. It could be an obstacle to the previous WIFI Mesh system, but with a combination of WiFi 6E and four times the number of existing router mesh channels, it shouldn’t be a problem for the AXE8400.

Indeed, the only problem might be a price. Available to order now, the three-node Atlas Max 6e is $ 1,199.99, which means you really, really must need the maximum wireless speed to take a leap. One unit will be $ 499.99, or you will pay $ 899.99 for two packages; They are expected to arrive in June. Everyone may be better served holding until WiFi 6e makes more than encouragement to the mainstream.
